Applications

Panels: dropdowns and buttons

Send a Discord message that members click to start an application. Layouts, customization, and live preview.

A Panel is the Discord message that lets members start an application. Without a panel, members can still use /apply, but a panel makes it findable and brand-able.

Creating a panel#

  1. Go to Application Panels in the dashboard sidebar.
  2. Click New Panel, give it a name, hit Create.
  3. Pick the channel the panel will be posted in.
  4. Pick a layout: Dropdown (one menu, picks an application) or Buttons (one button per application).
  5. Click Add application to link your applications. Each linked app needs a label, optional emoji, optional dropdown subtext.
  6. Customize the embed: title, description, color, optional thumbnail and image.
  7. Click Send to Discord.

Layout: dropdown vs buttons#

Dropdown
Best when you have 3+ applications. Compact, scrolls, supports descriptions. Recommended default.
Buttons
Best when you have 1-3 applications. More discoverable. Buttons can be colored and have emoji.

Updating a panel#

Edit the panel, then click Update in Discord. Auditer edits the existing message instead of posting a new one. If you deleted the message manually, clicking Update sends a fresh one.

Live preview#

The right side of the editor shows an approximate Discord preview. Embeds may render slightly differently in the actual Discord client.

Multiple panels per channel

Nothing stops you from sending multiple panels in the same channel. Useful for splitting "Apply for Staff" and "Partnerships" into separate, themed messages.
