Instagram setup
The Business API path for watching an Instagram account.
Instagram does not offer a public API for watching arbitrary accounts. Auditer supports the Meta Graph API for watching your own Instagram Business or Creator account, linked to a Facebook Page.
Requirements#
- An Instagram Business or Creator account
- A Facebook Page connected to that Instagram account
- Long-lived access token from the Meta Graph API Explorer
- Your IG business account ID
Setup#
- Open the dashboard's social page and click the Instagram credential modal
- Paste your access token and business account ID
- Save (stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM per guild)
- Create an Instagram watcher, the handle field is display-only
No arbitrary accounts
This flow only lets you watch YOUR OWN Instagram account. Meta does not provide a way to watch third-party public accounts through their official API.
